Fic: 'Past the Port', Minerva McGonagall, Horace Slughorn, Rubeus Hagrid, PG [Feb. 19th, 2014|11:05 pm]
Title: Past the Port
Author: [info]purplefluffycat
Characters: Minerva McGonagall, Horace Slughorn, Rubeus Hagrid. Various pairings mentioned, but nothing explicit.
Rating: PG
Word Count: ~5400
Summary:

Two things of which Minerva was very fond were propriety and Scotch. It was so rare these days, she reflected, that Scotch got a look-in.

A story about the trials of life, the joy of experience, and the importance of friendship – in which Horace soul-searches, Hagrid blushes, and Minerva surprises them both.

Warnings: Tipsy professors?

Author's Notes: This was written for [info]miss_morland in the 2013 edition of the delightful [info]hoggywartyxmas fest. I tried to include a few of Miss M's different prompts, here: ‘McGonagall/older woman,’ ‘Someone spends Christmas alone, against their will,’ and ‘The Little Match Girl’.

There comes a point in every party – at least, in every party at which the stiffer aqua vitae of life are served – when the guests have two fundamental options. Either, they may sense the oncoming roll of head with respect to horizon, feel the recalcitrance of foot for straight line and tongue for complex syllable, and deem the point at hand an excellent one at which to make polite – if slightly overfond – goodbyes, and return themselves to bed before anything embarrassing might happen. Alternatively, they might grab the nearest decanter and carry on regardless. )

Fic: 'Proceedings from the Herbologists’ Fortnightly', Pomona Sprout/Severus Snape, NC-17 [Feb. 9th, 2014|04:32 pm]
Title: Proceedings from the Herbologists’ Fortnightly
Author: [info]purplefluffycat
Pairing: Pomona Sprout/Severus Snape
Rating: NC-17
Content: Submission, orgasm denial (ultimately satisfied), mild pain play and restraints.
Word Count: About 2000

Summary/Description: Pomona had admitted it properly to herself for the first time this year: she was lonely, and sick and tired of not having any sex. This is the tale of what happens when a clever lady takes steps to ensure her own pleasure.

Author's Notes: This was written for [info]venturous in [info]daily_deviant's 2013 Kinky Kristmas fest, with the prompt, ‘Pomona finds an unlikely playmate who takes her where she needs to go; someone who helps her celebrate her lush, mature body, and releases her inner goddess.’ It was also somewhat inspired by the memoir, 'A Round-Heeled Woman,' by Jane Juska.

She had done exactly what any sensible, educated witch might have done at two in the morning in a fit of there’s-nothing-to-lose: place a discreet personal advert on the inner-back page of ‘Herbologists’ Fortnightly’. )

Fic: 'Frolics of an All Hallows’ Eve', Albus Dumbledore/Horace Slughorn, R [Feb. 4th, 2014|08:13 pm]
Title: Frolics of an All Hallows’ Eve
Author: [info]purplefluffycat
Characters/Pairings: Albus Dumbledore/Horace Slughorn; ensemble effort by the early 20th c. Hogwarts staff.
Rating: R
Word Count: ~2500
Warnings: Anyone who is terrified of rollercoasters should probably look away now.

Summary/Description: 'That evening, something seemed to be in the air at the staff table...’

Author's Notes: A fun little fic for Hallowe’en, set in Albus’ and Horace’s early days as Hogwarts Professors.

It was not often that the Hogwarts professors were naughty. Of that, Horace was reasonably sure; the months he had spent so far in the Potions position had seemed to consist mainly of earnest discussions, recalcitrant pupils and marking.  )

Fic: 'Friends Forever', Sybill Trelawney/Alecto Carrow, R [Feb. 4th, 2014|08:11 pm]
Title: Friends Forever
Author: [info]purplefluffycat
Characters/Pairings: Sybill Trelawney/Alecto Carrow
Rating: R
Warnings: Brief threat of violence
Word Count: About 3000
Summary/Description: Bad relationships don't necessarily start out that way.

Author's Notes: An unlikely pairing, generated by [info]daily_deviant's 'alternate pairing' challenge. (the mods' wobbly smiley says it all: "o_O") - but the more I thought about these two, the more that a history between them made some sense. I hope you like what I've come up with, here.

Fic: 'His, To Reason Why', Apollyon, Arabella/Fabian/Gideon, Bellaxtrix/Voldemort, Remus/Sirius, etc [Feb. 4th, 2014|07:55 pm]
Title: His, To Reason Why
Author: [info]purplefluffycat
Characters/Pairings: Apollyon Pringle, Arabella Figg/Gideon Prewett/Fabian Prewett, Bellatrix Lestrange/Lord Voldemort, Dolores Umbridge/Lucius Malfoy (unrequited), Remus Lupin/Sirius Black, Argus Filch
Rating: R
Kinks/Themes Chosen: Padlocks
Other Warnings: Chastity devices, incest between brothers, masturbation, mild BDSM
Word Count: About 2600

Summary/Description: Apollyon gave the address differently, depending on who was asking. He had two different business cards – one bold, loud and innocent, and the other understated in neat, black script – and two different front doors. Upon both, however, were the same simple words: Apollyon Pringle. Locksmith.

Author's Notes: This was written for [info]daily_deviant's theme, 'Padlocks'. Initially, I thought of a number of ways this could go; luckily Apollyon let me have a go at including several of them! Quite a lot of thinkerty-thoughts to go with the erotica, this time.

Fic: 'Tales for an April Fool', Albus/Severus, George/Angelina, Gilderoy, Minerva, N-H Nick [Sep. 18th, 2013|07:53 pm]
Title: Tales for an April Fool
Author: [info]purplefluffycat
Characters/Pairings: Nearly-Headless Nick, Albus Dumbledore/Severus Snape, George Weasley/Angelina Johnson, Dolores Umbridge, Gilderoy Lockhart/Minerva McGonagall
Rating: NC-17
Warnings: Voyeurism, object insertion, unwitting swallowing of semen, self-bondage/dollification
Word Count: ~3400

Summary/Description: According to Nearly-Headless Nick, "The one boon - if there must be one - of this half-alive existence is that one gets to watch."

After several hundred years of disembodied floating, gosh he has seen a lot of things! And some of them are really quite ridiculous...

Author's Notes: I wrote this for [info]daily_deviant's April Fool's Day celebration: Unfortunate Incidents/The Silly Side of Sex. Other than that, I think Nick's description speaks for itself!

Fic: 'The Reluctant Phoenix', Albus/Minerva, Horace/Elphias, Albus/Horace, NC-17 - Part Three [Sep. 18th, 2013|07:49 pm]
Title: The Reluctant Phoenix
Author: [info]purplefluffycat
Pairings: Albus Dumbledore/Minerva McGonagall, Horace Slughorn/Elphias Doge, Albus Dumbledore/Horace Slughorn
Rating: Up to NC-17 (although most of the story rates lower)
Word Count: ~23,600
Warnings/Content Information: Cross-gen - teacher/student (Minerva is 18), infidelity in secondary pairing.

Summary: Albus thought that he was a non-running member of the human race when it came to romantic relationships. If pushed, he would have said that he was the kind of wizard who preferred wizards. -All that, of course, was before Minerva came along.

Author's/Artist's Notes: Thanks to Dueltastic for such open-ended and thought-provoking prompts; this was written for her in the 2013 edition of the excellent [info]hp_beholder fest. I tried to incorporate elements of the following suggestions into this story: "non-traditional relationships, things people make work in their own ways when it's not obvious how or why it does", "eras and places we see only hints of in canon", "age differences being acknowledged", "blurry definitions" and "fluidity in gender roles and sexual orientation." Many thanks also to [info]atdelphi for modding [info]hp_beholder 2013!

Fic: 'In the Style of a Lover', Tom Riddle/Horace Slughorn, NC-17 [Jul. 2nd, 2013|07:29 pm]
Title: In the Style of a Lover
Author: [info]purplefluffycat
Pairing: Tom Riddle/Horace Slughorn
Rating: NC-17
Warnings: Manipulative relationship in which Tom is 16 and is the manipulator; orgasm denial
Word Count: ~3150

Summary/Description: Tom Riddle has heard of Horcruxes, but now he needs more information. He suspects his gullible Housemaster will once again be the man to provide it. These are extracts from the diary found in the Chamber of Secrets.

Author's Notes: This was written for [info]daily_deviant's anti-Valentine's theme, in which a prompt read: "Horace Slughorn/anyone (but another catch -- they must be engaging in sexual activity for some non-romantic reason, e.g. manipulation, deals involving sex, information gathering...)".

Of course, I couldn't resist using dear Horace, here - but also used a twist on the prompt: he appears in this fic not as the manipulator, but as the manipulated party.

I was enormously flattered by the kind anonymous person who nominated this fic for the Spring/Summer round of the [info]hpfanficfanpoll awards, and the people who must have voted for it. If you're reading, thank you! <3

The position as it stands: I confirmed my suspicions and Horcruxes are definitely the way forward. Many of them; dozens, even. )

Fic: 'Cassandra's Gift', Sybill Trelawney, Luna Lovegood, G [Jul. 2nd, 2013|07:03 pm]
Title: Cassandra’s Gift
Author: [info]purplefluffycat
Characters: Sybill Trelawney, Luna Lovegood
Rating: G
Word Count: ~2700
Recipient: [info]vaysh11

Summary: In front of her lay the free copy that she had been promised – the people at The Quibbler were very nice; so very much nicer than those horrid scribblers at The Prophet… and here it was in print, word-for-word, exactly as Sybill had spoken it.

Author's Notes: This was written in response to [info]vaysh11’s prompt, ‘Fic that explores Sybill's Seer talent’, in the excellent [info]hoggywartyxmas fest. Despite Minerva's taunting on the subject, I’ve managed a little more than a drabble!

Author: [info]purplefluffycat
Pairing: Minerva McGonagall/Rufus Scrimgeour
Rating: NC-17
Warnings/Kinks/Themes: Banter, long hair, partially-clothed sex
Word Count: About 8200

Summary/Description: In a relationship based around scoring points, what can ultimately be won?

Author's Notes: This story was written for [info]kelly_chamblisskelly_chambliss in the [info]daily_deviant Kinky Kristmas fest. It grew from the prompt, ‘what could entice Minerva to have sex in the staff room?'

Also, thank you so much to the kind person who nominated this story for the 'Minerva McGonagall, Best Het Smut' category in the Spring-Summer 2013 round of the [info]hpfanficfanpoll awards, and to the people who must have voted for it. Much appreciated!

Fic: 'Professor C. Binns: A Personal History', Cuthbert Binns/Walburga Black, PG - Part 2 [May. 28th, 2013|12:13 am]
Title: Professor C. Binns: A Personal History
Author: [info]purplefluffycat
Pairings: Cuthbert Binns/Walburga Black, Walburga Black/Orion Black
Rating: PG
Word Count: About 13,300

Summary:

Transcribed from back cover of book:

Professor Cuthbert Binns (living: 1865-1963, haunting: 1963- ) is the leading Magical Historian of his day. He has published widely on topics ranging from, 'The origins of magic in native rock art,' to 'Wizard-Muggle relations through the ages', and was awarded an Order of Merlin (second class) in 1936, when his seminal work, 'A History of the magical world in 100,000 pages' became the best-selling Historical text on record.

This volume, however, is - for the first time - autobiographical in nature. It is thus somewhat experimental in nature, but serves to remind both the author and the reader that we each build the fabric of History, in our own ways, however small.

"Being in love with a person is more difficult than being in love with a book. You can carry a book with you wherever you go, but a person moves around on their own, and one is never sure where they are or where one will see them, next. Also, books get older in a predictable way: if you take good care of them they don't seem very different at all - aside from the odd scratch on the cover or a looseness to the spine - but people can change their thoughts and feelings and opinions, such that what was once written there disappears altogether and is replaced by information of an entirely different sort.

That is why people are so difficult."

Author: C. Binns.
Dictation: Gluey the House elf.
Production: A.P.W.B. Dumbledore, Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry,
Published, 1964; Revised, 1991.

Author's Notes: This atory was written for [info]psyfic in the fabulous [info]hp_beholder exchange, 2012. Her request included 'friendship' and 'a meeting of the minds', and I have attempted to include these ideas here. The tale is also somewhat inspired by 'The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time' by Mark Haddon.

Title: Philanthropy
Author: [info]purplefluffycat
Characters/Pairings: Remus Lupin/Severus Snape
Rating: NC-17
Warnings: Dirty talk, Aggressive partners, D/s dynamics, Ceraunophilia.
Word Count: ~1800
Summary/Description: Memories haunt Remus in the year he returns to Hogwarts to teach. How terrible to be back in the old castle, on a night like this.

Author's Notes: This can operate as a standalone piece, but I imagined it as a counterpart to Charity.

With heat and dampness, Summer was trying to suffocate. It was sticky-hot; lethargic hot - the lake turned to a putrid nest for mosquitoes and clouds squatting over the land like some great grey fungus. )

Fic: 'Charity', Severus Snape/Albus Dumbledore, NC-17 [May. 1st, 2013|03:44 pm]
Hello Everyone! *waves*
...

*crickets*

Ahem. I have actually been moderately active in fandom on the writing/reading/commenting front over the past few months - but looking at this journal one would never guess, as I've been absolutely terrible at reposting stories here and on other little comms! So, I thought I'd have ago a remedying that. I think there's a backlog of half-a-dozen or so fics to come, so please pardon the traffic...

Also, an enormous *thank you* to the person or people who nominated two of my stories for the Spring-Summer 2013 round of the HP Fanfic Fan Poll Awards! ('In the Style of a Lover,' for Best Drama/Angst Story with Tom Riddle/Voldemort; 'One All,' for Best Het Smut Story with Minerva McGonagall). I'm really grateful :-)

I'll start with an angsty pair of short fics. They each can stand alone, but were conceived as counterparts.

Title: Charity
Author: [info]purplefluffycat
Pairings: Severus Snape/Albus Dumbledore
Rating: NC-17
Warnings: D/s dynamics
Word Count: ~1150
Summary/Description: The storm; the wind, it was, which made Severus remember that dreadful night...

Author's Notes: This story was written in response to [info]daily_deviant's theme, 'Ceraunophilia' (arousal by thunder and lightning/storms). The small section quoted from 'Deathly Hallows' appears indented and in italics. It's pretty obvious ;-)

The wind was unsettled, that day. It coughed forth in unpredictable gusts, ruffling the branches by the lake in random twist, and spluttering along guttering like the efflux of some consumptive weather god. )

Title: Aristophanes and Aesop
Author: [info]purplefluffycat
Pairing: Horace Slughorn/Severus Snape
Rating: NC-17 (although much of the story rates lower than that)
Word Count: About 13,300

Summary: Hours after the Battle of Hogwarts, Severus has been found alive - but he seems to be in need of help, both magically and emotionally. Horace would never have expected to be the man for the job.

Author's Notes: Written for [info]verdeckt in the peerless [info]hoggywartyxmas exchange, with the prompt, "Snape does not die from Nagini's bite. How does he behave without his anchor, his purpose, his ballast? ...Is it too late, or can that be made to change?"

Fic: 'The Greater Snarled Fitterbloom', Neville Longbottom/Pomona Sprout, NC-17 [Jan. 18th, 2012|04:40 pm]
Title: The Greater Snarled Fitterbloom
Author: [info]purplefluffycat
Pairing: Professor Neville Longbottom/Madam Pomona Sprout
Rating: NC-17
Warnings: bondage, teacher/student roleplay, orgasm denial
Words: about 2350
Summary: Professor Longbottom invites his Herbology ex-Professor back to Hogwarts.

...Indeed, he could still hardly believe it was true; that a drunken feast, an overheard conversation and an over-bold flurry of letter-writing could have lead to this... It was often said that Gryffindor bravery and recklessness were close bedfellows, was it not? This morning, he felt very Gryffindor indeed.

Author's Notes: Unashamedly porny and a bit silly, I had great fun using a popular trope with less-popular characters, here :-) It was written for the theme, 'silence'.
